Ashlie Cook - Ashlie is a Trinity mom and Texas transplant. She earned a B.A. in Spanish from the University of Texas at Tyler and has taught Spanish in a classroom setting for 12 years. She has homeschooled her daughter for the past 7 years and also owns and operates her own travel agency. She has been married to Brad Cook since 2005, and they have one daughter, Bradie, who is an incoming 10th grader.

Course Description

Curriculum:  Somos Spanish curriculum, provided by the teacher.
Description: This course is designed to teach oral and written mastery of Spanish phrases and sentences. Spanish grammar, translation, the present tense and correct Spanish word order is also presented, as well as a cultural overview of various countries of Latin America. In this class the students will memorize Bible verses in Spanish, memorize short dramas in Spanish, practice vocabulary, grammar and translations at home and in class, research two different Spanish cultural topics and present them in class, take frequent quizzes to check understanding and take exams quarterly. Students will be required to complete listening, memorizing, and writing assignments at home in order to achieve these goals. Parents are welcome to attend class with their students as this facilitates learning at home.

Spanish with Señora Cook is independent from Nikki Nolte and her classes.

They will be meeting at the same location on the same day.

It is their hope that this benefits local homeschool families as they can drop their child(ren) off for Spanish in the morning

and stay for Comp & Lit in the afternoon - please discuss lunch options with Nikki if your child will stay on campus during lunch.
